B Series VM in Azure

Microsoft Azure has recently introduced The B-series VMs. B Series VMs are ideal for workloads that don’t require the full CPU cycles continuously but may require burstable performance at times. The B-series VMs provides the ability to purchase a VM size with baseline performance and the VM instance builds up credits when it is using less than its baseline. When the VM has accumulated credit, it VM can burst above the baseline using up to 100% of the vCPU when your application requires higher CPU performance.

Targeted Workloads –
  • Web Servers
  • Small Database Servers
  • Test and Development Servers
Hardware Configuration
  •  Intel® Broadwell E5-2673 v4 2.3GHz, or
  •  Intel® Haswell 2.4 GHz E5-2673 v3 processor vCPU.
